12/23/10    Mississippi Masala and Beyond

Performing and hanging with Tribe Unda was just fantastic. I always love hanging with the lovely ladies....our sisters. I just enjoy their company so much and think I will have to plan a trip down to just hang with them and dance.

2010 ... It's hard to believe it's almost gone. What an incredibly year. I had more excitement this year than I would have thought possible. There really aren't words to express how blessed I feel to have been able to travel all over the country and dance with new people...to have been able to take part in some excellent workshops. I am thankful to have had some really wonderful students as well. All the people I have met are just precious to me.

Thank you everyone for allowing me into your lives! Beth

11/6/10    Sacred Circles

I can't believe I got to stand on the same stage as Carolena! My heart is still pounding! It was wonderful. I can't express just how jubilent it was to turn and see her smiling face....just incredible. That plus the wonderful workshops she offered and the beautiful landscape really helped to recharge my batteries. What a great event!

With my spirit renewed, I now look forward to the workshops hosted this weekend by my dear friend Jeanette Daft.

Next weekend is the Student Showcase and I'm looking forward to performing with my students from UWM!! You ladies will be great!!

And later this month, we get to see some of my favorite sisters Melanie and the lovely ladies of Unda.We have quite a lineup cooked up for that show. It should be a blast.

9/13/10    Awesome workshops!!

My feet have recovered from Bastille Days, but what's pounding now is my heart! Tamarind is hosting Zoe Jakes October 2nd and I can't wait to see what she cooks up!

If that wasn't enough excitement, we are traveling to Michigan October 8th-10th for a Tribal Retreat with Czigany and workshops with our beloved Carolena ...but, the fun doesn't stop there!

In November, I have a number of different events to enjoy. November 7th, dear friend Jeanette Daft is hosting Halloween workshops and a hafla. Later in the month, we get to see some of my favorite sisters Melanie and the lovely ladies of Unda.Quite honestly, I don't know how I will contain myself with all this excitement!

7/23/10    Ooo la la! Bastille Days

Wow! My feet are still hurting from Bastille Days! Our great stage guys Brett and Pat were back keeping things running smooth. We were joined on stage by our friends Jeanette Daft and Shaia and Extreme Taqisim. The crowd was fantastic! I think my favorite part was dancing for the morning news!

We prepared for about 2 months, cross-training, practicing new music, and getting our moves perfected. I think it paid off with some great shows. I will be posting video soon! Check out the Tamarind YouTube Channel for footage.

5/25/10    What a great April and May!

I am back from Golden, Colorado and Elevation 2010! The workshops with Rachel Brice were fantastic! What a beautiful and talented woman! She was a true inspiration and joy.
The mountains fantastic, the people a true joy. I just loved it! I even got to dance with ladies from Australia!! I hope to make it back out next year!

This last weekend Tamarind also hosted a Student Showcase. What a blast! I even got to ride my motorcycle to it with the fantastic weather!

There are still lots of events to come this year! Stop out! Introduce yourself!

4/25/10    Only one more event for April to go!

I am finally enjoying a well deserved break, but that will be short lived as this Wednesday I leave for Golden, Colorado and Elevation 2010! I am looking forward to taking workshops with Rachel Brice and some others. My beloved children will be driving out with me. I can't wait to spend some time in the mountains.

The last two weekends were spent in Minneapolis and Eau Claire. The Northland Belly Dance Forum was just excellent! Our hostess Arshia was just lovely! It was an excellent show with some of the finest Egyptian dancers I have ever had the pleasure to see. Simply excellent! I look forward to going back next year.

Tribal Renaissance was so much fun! To me the joy of dancing ATS is to be able to dance with others even when we have never danced together before and that's exactly what we did. What a delight to have been able to dance with the ladies of Tribal Sophia, TMI Tribal, Tasha Rose, and my beloved ladies from Fond du Lac, Tribe Catalpa!

I think the toughest part of the last few weeks was all the driving...something like 22 hours total! And crazy me is going to add on another 32 hours when all is said and done come the end of Elevation. But, I am looking forward to it!

4/8/10    Off to a Great Start!!

Wow! What a start to the year! I have been busy performing with Tamarind and have even done one solo.

Tribal Union was a great show! We were fortunate to have a lot of talented performers partake in the show. Our lovely sisters from Tribe Unda came up from Iowa and put on a great show. Jeanette Daft put on an excellent performance with the double sword. Every performer put on such a great show!

The Riverwest Follies and Mitchell Domes were both as entertaining as they have been in prior years! A great time had by all!

By far the highlight of my performances this year has been Cues and Tattoos Festival in Seattle, WA. (Tribal Union a very close second!!). This event was absolutely great! Between the Friday night show of the workshop teachers (most notably Carolena Nericcio and FatChance) and our performance, I had such a fantastic time...met some great people and enjoyed the company of my troupe mates! It made the long hike to the west coast worth the trip.

Last, but not least, of the events I've just finished up performing was Shaia's Open House Hafla. As always, Shaia lined up some of Milwaukee's best talent and they did not fail to deliver. The atmosphere was charged with excitement at the auction and chance to rub elbows with fellow Milwaukeeans.

Look for my next blog about Tamarind's trip to Minneapolis for the Northland Bellydance Festival!
